when DP released their "RAM Drumless" version recently, of course i was gunna redrum it.

my first idea was free jazz drums - like totally random free drumming that had no bearing at all on the other music. but recently i'd also been thinking about how much fun it is to put ridiculous death metal drums over things (like the classic "Orinoco Grind" and the more recent "Kneed to No"), and how i should do that more - so instead of free jazz, i ended up doing ridiculous metal drums. over the whole damn thing.

i personally find RAM to be a very long album, and i was scared that, by doing a kinda one-trick pony idea like putting metal drums over the whole thing, it might end up being an incredibly gruelling listen. but i also thought if i started it i kinda had to finish it. so yeah, i did the whole album. it's probably totally gruelling. oh well.

i deliberately didn't relisten to the DP original album, so i have no idea how similar or different my drums are to the original drums. but i'm pretty sure the original album has less blastbeats.

so yeah. i did a thing!
