about

"Buttress O'Kneel's headline gig in the National Gallery of Australia in 2010, as part of the now-legendary Digital Jam event. Paired with international visual designer DANNY SANGRA, the event was 3 hours of DJ floor-fillers - and one hour of glitched medianoise and broken hyperpop.

Advertised as a '4 Hour Party', Buttress did her very best to concentrate on completely destroying her classic songs and turning pop CDs into incredibly loud glitchy drones of shuddering eargasm. The audience, mostly young cool people hoping for dancebeats and high art, were subjected to over an hour of shuffling listlessly in an underground carpark. Indeed, Buttress may have been the only person there having a really, really good time during her set. But what a time she had!"

about

Buttress O'Kneel Australia

“Words like "mashup" and "remix" don't really do justice to Buttress O'Kneel's method - Top 40 pop crap gets sliced, diced, and tossed into a dizzying, exciting hardcore electro stew. Compared to other djs who timidly drop a Vanilla Ice acapella over a Chemical Bros intro just to move a dance floor, O'Kneel shreds copyrights with a blood-curdling vehemence. Smash the state!”
