THE DECADENT TRIO OF PASTIMES
VOLUME II - DRUGS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll have always gone together as some kind of unholy triumvirate of Bad Things. But are they *ALL* bad? Or are they actually paths to Enlightenment? Or are they paths to Enlightenment *AND* Bad Things at the same time? And if they're so Bad, why is everyone doing them? And if they're paths to Enlightenment, why are so many people who do them Not Enlightened? And if they're paths to Enlightenment, why does Big Government want to control them so much? Or is that EXACTLY WHY? And why are all three so commonly connected to each other? Are they links to Godhood? Or heaps of harmless fun? Or are they harmful fun? Or are they only harmful when used disrespectfully? Or is *EVERYTHING* harmful in the wrong doses? Or is *EVERYTHING* fun in the right ones? Are these things more than "just fun"? And hang on, what's wrong with "just fun" anyway? Is the Godhood even a thing? And why does the air make these rainbow-coloured trails when I stroke my fingers through it? OMIGOD WE'RE ALL ELECTRONS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To help create her trilogy-long vision of the Trio of Decadent Pastimes, Buttress O'Kneel somehow managed to score the amazing assistance of the incredible I CUT PEOPLE, adding a chaotic-but-zesty sprinkling of his hypercut blipvert flavas to help balance O'Kneel's over-didactic mashumentary stylings. More of I CUT PEOPLE's amazing frenetic pop nihilism can - and must - be listened to here:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

After five billion albums of purely fun-based musickal mashuppery, 'The Trio of Decadent Pastimes' marks a solid return to the plunderphonic audiodocumentary form Buttress pioneered in the early noughties.

Why 'Drugs' first? It was ready first. But also, look around you - the world is already changing! Outdated and often racist old anti-drug laws are being done away with - just during the making of this album, magic mushrooms have been decriminalised in several places and pot is getting legaller and legaller all around the globe. If they'd sat on this album much longer, it could all very well become completely irrelevant. So here it is!

Yes, it's fucking long. But not as long as it would've been if it was a Netflix series, or some feature-length movie presentation. Sit back, nang down a couple of goofballs, eat some crack, and let yourself listen. By the time you get to the end of the album, all this will have just been a terrible dream...

about

Buttress O'Kneel Australia

“Words like "mashup" and "remix" don't really do justice to Buttress O'Kneel's method - Top 40 pop crap gets sliced, diced, and tossed into a dizzying, exciting hardcore electro stew. Compared to other djs who timidly drop a Vanilla Ice acapella over a Chemical Bros intro just to move a dance floor, O'Kneel shreds copyrights with a blood-curdling vehemence. Smash the state!”
