Kapitän Clownfeuer It's a difficult choice, tbh.. but Spiritual groove to the rhythm or demon lord make me smile the most, but i'm tickled by the whole thing really, gotta be honest. Favorite track: Spiritual Groove to the Rhythm.

about

💿 CDJ abstract turntablism 💿

🐐

📀step 1: freeform jam with CDJ, no additional effects or anything, just raw CDJ. this layer had a lot of Doja Cat, but also some random Salsa music.

📀step 2: another couple of layers, responding to whatever happened in the first layer.

📀step 3: cut it into the "good bits". trim off any stuff that "didn't work".

📀step 4: improvise more layers over these subsections, all at once, as though they were layer 1.

📀step 5: mix down, repeat step 3.

📀step 6: now treat each section as a unique "piece", and improvise a couple more layers specific to making each "piece" more like whatever it seems to be - eg, if Doja Cat mentions "moving like a goat", use a goat sound effect CD, or if there are lots of salsa-style cowbell percussions, use more salsa-style cowbell percussions.

📀step 7: rearrange pieces into a pleasing order.

📀step 8: spend days trying to work out what to call it. end up going down a Latin Translator rabbit hole. settle on "Caerimonia Insolitae Soni" which allegedly translates to "A Ceremony of Unusual Sound", to reflect the chaotic ritual-style nature of the recording process.

📀step 9: use AI to make art like a lazy fuck.

📀step 10: release on bandcamp.

📀step 11: PROFIT!

about

Buttress O'Kneel Australia

“Words like "mashup" and "remix" don't really do justice to Buttress O'Kneel's method - Top 40 pop crap gets sliced, diced, and tossed into a dizzying, exciting hardcore electro stew. Compared to other djs who timidly drop a Vanilla Ice acapella over a Chemical Bros intro just to move a dance floor, O'Kneel shreds copyrights with a blood-curdling vehemence. Smash the state!”
